Equipping a new gym: Division 11 from submittal to training
If your district is building a gym addition or a new school, the athletic equipment package is a Division 11 line item that touches the structural steel, the electrical rough-in and the finished floor. ATHCO is the Porter Athletic representative for Kansas and Missouri and has delivered this package for Blue Valley West, Blue Valley Southwest, Wolf Springs Middle School and Pleasant Ridge Middle School, among others.

What is in the package.
Basketball backstops and equipment control, ceiling-suspended volleyball systems, sleeved volleyball with floor sleeves, wall padding, divider curtains, batting cages, perimeter netting, and PE-stamped submittals with point loads for the structural engineer. ATHCO supplies, installs, and trains your staff. More importantly, we're local to better assist in service years after the install is complete.
How it is bought.
Typically, through school district bond projects, as a subcontractor to the GC's bid package. For additions and renovations, districts can buy directly through ATHCO's Greenbush contract since all of our products and services have been pre-bid through Greenbush's RFP process. This is how Oak Grove High School re-equipped its auxiliary gym.
After opening.
We inspect and service backstops, curtains and scoreboards on an annual schedule, and we handle warranty on everything we install.
Schools, cities, counties and qualifying non-profits in Kansas and Missouri can purchase ATHCO equipment and installation through ATHCO’s Greenbush cooperative contract, already competitively bid through Greenbush’s RFP process.
