The project
When the City of Columbia expanded its Sports Fieldhouse, Parks & Recreation came back to the team that equipped the original building in 2018. ATHCO supplied and installed the Porter Athletic package for the expansion: twenty-four ceiling-hung side-fold backstops, three motorized divider curtains so the hall splits into separate tournament courts, two competition volleyball systems with floor sleeves and storage, and wall padding throughout.
A facility this size is a coordination job as much as an equipment job: PE-stamped point loads to the structural engineer, submittals through Prost Builders, prevailing-wage installation sequenced before the finished floor, and commissioning of every backstop and curtain. ATHCO continues to service the building. For cities and park districts planning a multi-court fieldhouse, this is a local reference project.
