Equipping Blue Valley West's new gym, from backstops to shot clocks

The project
Blue Valley West's gym addition needed a complete competition-gym package specified in Division 11 and coordinated with the structural steel. ATHCO supplied Porter Athletic backstops attached to the bottom chord of the roof steel, electric Powr-Touch fold controls, a Powr-Rib II volleyball system with floor sleeves set before the finished floor, a retractable batting cage and wall padding throughout.
ATHCO also supplied and installed the scoreboards, shot clocks and wireless goal lights, so the district had one vendor for equipment, scoring and training. Point-load information and PE-stamped submittals went to the structural engineer early enough to avoid steel changes. ATHCO has delivered similar packages at Blue Valley Southwest and Pleasant Ridge Middle School.
