The project
Riverside rebuilt its pool deck and restrooms in 2024–25 and used the project to add a splash pad for the smallest swimmers, beside the pool rather than in a separate park. ATHCO supplied the Aquatix package as the spray-feature subcontractor, working the submittals through Waters Edge Aquatic Design and the city: a cherry-bucket Canopy Cluster and a FlashFlood dump bucket, an AquaGather station, two SprayShrouds and a field of fan sprays, curvy jets and water jewels in the deck, all run from a sequencing controller so the pad cycles through its features.
The pad sits on a curved apron between the pool and the bathhouse, with shade sails and turf lounging either side. It shows how water play can be added to an existing municipal pool site.
