The project
Carl Junction wanted a splash pad that felt like the Fourth of July all summer. ATHCO worked with the city on an Aquatix design built around a red, white and blue theme: a flag-draped dump bucket and a Liberty Bell bucket on tall arches, star-spangled spray towers, a blue pickup-truck feature for toddlers, a spray table and ground sprays across an open pad, with shade and seating at the edge.
The pad sits in Memorial Park on the north side of town and is a Joplin-area reference for what a themed Aquatix pad looks like. ATHCO handled the design proposal, submittals and delivery for the city's parks department. It offers southwest Missouri communities a local example of themed water play.
