Barry Elementary: a whole-site replacement in one summer

The project

Platte County Schools wanted Barry Elementary's playground done between the last day of school and the first. ATHCO quoted it through the Greenbush contract, pre-bid through Greenbush's RFP process, in May 2026 and delivered it as one package: demolition of the old equipment, fitness stations and paving, grading into the existing drainage, a Landscape Structures tower with a spiral tube slide and built-in shade, and synthetic turf across the play area, including a play berm and a gaga-ball pit.

Coordination with the district's construction manager, utility locates for the fiber line crossing the site, and a structure layout flexible enough to miss it were built into the scope. It is a current reference for a Kansas City-area elementary playground replacement on turf.
